The experiment is loading. This should take about 5 seconds.
This experiment tests your ability to remember what the last frame of a video looked like.
On each trial, a video will play in the center of the screen and then be covered up by a "mask" image and disappear. After the video disappears, you will be given a chance to report what that last frame of the video looked like.
Using a slider, you will be able to adjust the image on the screen until it looks like the exact frame that you saw last before the video disappeared. Once you're satisfied with your judgment, you'll click a button to proceed to the next trial.
ContinueThere will be 30 trials, which should take you around 10 minutes to complete.
The experiment must be completed in fullscreen. Please do not exit fullscreen unless you no longer want to participate in the experment. To enter fullscreen and continue, click the button below.
ContinueFirst, you'll do an example, so you can understand the task. In this example, the last frame of the video will remain on screen the whole time. In the actual study, the video will disappear and you'll have to rely on your memory!
Remember: Make the image exactly match the last frame of the video! Keep adjusting until you are satisfied with the match!
Once you have made the image match, you can start the real trials. To reveal the video, click the "Play" button below.
PlayNow we'll do 3 practice trials.
These will be harder because they will be exactly like the real trials. The video will be covered by a mask and disappear when it ends. It will not still be on the screen while you respond. You will have to rely on your memory in order to match the last frame. (And the slider will not turn green when you are close to the right position like it did before.)
Remember, try to pick the frame that exactly matches the last frame of the video.
